Built not to lose your recording
- A countdown of 5 or 3 seconds, or none, before the first frame is recorded
- Your screen stays awake while recording, so it won't dim or sleep
- The browser asks before you close or reload the page mid-recording
- Recording carries on while you switch windows or tabs, and is saved every second
Questions people ask
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. It is recorded by your browser and stays on your device until you download it. Nothing is sent to a server, and closing the page deletes anything you haven't downloaded.
How does the noise reduction work on my voice?
Your microphone goes through the browser's noise suppression and echo cancellation, then a filter that removes hum and rumble below 80 Hz, such as fans and air conditioning. Sound from the screen is mixed in untouched, so music and videos keep their full sound.
Can I record my phone's screen?
Not from a web page: phone browsers don't allow it. Use your phone's built-in screen recording, or open this page on a computer.
Why is there no sound from my screen?
Turn on 'Sound from the screen or tab' before you start, and tick the browser's 'Share audio' box when you pick what to share. Some browsers share sound only from a browser tab, not a window.
Which video format do I get?
MP4 where your browser can make it, otherwise WebM. Both upload to YouTube, Google Drive and most sites.
