Compress PDF to 100 KB, 200 KB or any size
Pick the limit your form gives and the tool rewrites each page as a compressed image until the whole PDF fits. JEE Main 2027, for example, takes the Class 10 certificate as a PDF of 50–300 KB.

How to compress a PDF to a size limit
- 01
Choose your PDF
Pick the PDF from your phone or computer. Its current size shows next to the name.
- 02
Pick the limit
Tap the size your form allows. If the PDF is already under it, the tool says so and you can upload it as it is.
- 03
Compress and download
Each page is redrawn and shrunk in turn. Download the new PDF and check that every page is readable before you upload it.
Good to know
- Pages are redrawn at 150 dpi, sharp enough to read and to print on A4, and saved as images. Text in the new PDF can't be selected or searched.
- A digital signature (DSC) is removed when a PDF is rewritten. If your signed PDF is too big, ask the issuer for a smaller signed copy instead.
- PDFs locked with a password can't be read. Save a copy without the password first.
- Large pages share the limit by area, so an A4 page gets more of it than a small receipt.
Questions people ask
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Your browser reads and rewrites the PDF on your own device with pdf.js, an open-source PDF reader. The only download is that program itself, the first time you compress a file.
Why can't I select the text after compressing?
To reach a small limit, each page is saved as one compressed image, which is far smaller than the fonts and shapes in most PDFs. Forms only need the page to be readable, but keep the original if you need to copy text from it.
How small can a PDF get?
It depends on the pages. Printed text on white compresses far more than a colour photo or a dark scan. If a page can't reach its share of the limit while staying readable, the tool asks you to choose a larger limit or remove pages.
Can it make a PDF bigger for a form's minimum?
No. If a form wants at least 50 KB and your PDF is smaller, it is usually fine to scan again at a higher resolution, or make the PDF from photos on our PDF under a size page.
