How to make a QR code

  1. 01

    Choose what it holds

A link, text, UPI payment, Wi-Fi network, contact card or WhatsApp chat.

  2. 02

    Fill in the details

The code updates as you type, and shows what a phone will read from it.

  3. 03

    Download and test

Save it as PNG for screens and sharing, or SVG for sharp printing at any size. Scan it once before you print.

Good to know

  • Print it at least 2 cm wide, and bigger if people scan from a distance: a poster read from 2 metres needs a code about 20 cm wide.
  • Keep dark modules on a light background. Light-on-dark and low-contrast colours fail on many phones.
  • Short links make simpler codes that scan faster than long addresses full of tracking parameters.

Questions people ask

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. The code is drawn by your browser on your own device, so your UPI ID, Wi-Fi password or contact details never reach us or anyone else.

Will the QR code stop working?

No. It holds your link or details directly, with no redirect through our server, so it works for as long as what it points to exists. Many free generators make 'dynamic' codes that send people through their own site and can expire or be paywalled later.

PNG or SVG?

PNG for WhatsApp, websites and documents. SVG for printing: it is drawn from shapes, so it stays sharp on a business card or a banner.
