How to add a watermark to a photo

  1. 01

    Choose your photo

Pick one photo, or several to mark them all the same way.

  2. 02

    Set the watermark

Type your text or choose a logo, then pick its position, size and strength. The preview updates as you go.

  3. 03

    Download

Save the marked photo. Your original stays unchanged on your device.

Good to know

  • A small corner mark is easy to crop off. 'Repeat across' at faint strength is much harder to remove and still lets the photo be seen.
  • Use a PNG logo with a transparent background, so only the logo shows and not a white box around it.
  • Size and margin are a share of each photo, so the mark looks the same on a phone photo and on a small crop.

Questions people ask

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The watermark is drawn by your browser on your own device, and neither your photos nor your logo leave it.

Can a watermark be removed?

A small mark in a corner can be cropped or painted over. A mark repeated across the middle is far harder to remove cleanly, which is why stock photo sites use one.

Does it lower the photo quality?

Barely. JPG photos are saved again at high quality, and PNG and WebP images come out as lossless PNG.
