Forms that set a minimum file size refuse small files, however sharp they are. Type the form's smallest and largest size and the tool makes the file land between them.

Why forms set a minimum
To refuse blurry files
A minimum is a rough check that the image isn't a tiny, blurry copy. A signature photographed from far away or a photo saved again and again falls under it, even if it looks fine on your phone.
Start from the original
If you still have the photo straight from the camera, use that rather than a copy sent through a chat app, which shrinks images. More real detail means less padding is needed.
Questions people ask
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is resized by your browser on your own device and never leaves it. That also makes it fast: there is nothing to upload or wait for.
Does a bigger file make the photo better?
No. A file can't gain detail it never had. The tool saves at the highest JPG quality, which keeps all the detail there is, and then pads the file if it is still short. The portal sees the right size; the picture looks the same.
What if my photo is still too small?
The tool first saves it at the highest JPG quality. If the file is still under the minimum, it adds blank comment data inside the JPG, which every viewer and portal skips, so the file reaches the size without a single pixel changing.
My form only gives a minimum. What do I put as the largest size?
Most forms that set a minimum also set a maximum, so check the notice again. If there really is none, pick a generous size such as 500 KB, or use the main resize page at /resize-image-to-kb/ to set any limit.
