JPG out · any size you need · nothing uploaded
Get any photo under 200 KB, the limit on forms like the OCI application. A 12-megapixel phone photo comes out about 1400 × 1900 pixels: still sharp on any form.

Questions people ask
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is resized by your browser on your own device and never leaves it. That also makes it fast: there is nothing to upload or wait for.
Will my photo look worse at 200 KB?
Not in a way a form will show. In our tests a 12-megapixel phone photo came out about 1400 × 1900 pixels at 200 KB, far more than any upload form displays. The tool lowers compression first and only reduces pixels if it must.
My form says 'maximum 200 KB'. Is a file of exactly 200 KB allowed?
To be safe, the tool always makes the file a little under the limit, never exactly on it. Some upload checks reject a file that is equal to the limit.
