A vector PDF of graph paper; print as many copies as you need at 100 %.
Which grid to pick
- ¼ inch squares (four to the inch) are the usual US school graph paper; a darker line marks every inch, so counting is quick.
- ⅕ and ⅛ inch grids have a darker line every inch too, for finer drawings and charts.
- 5 mm and 1 cm squares are the common metric grids for maths and design work.
- The 1 mm grid has a darker line every centimetre, like engineering paper.
- Print at 100 % (“Actual size”) so the squares come out at their true size; “Fit to page” shrinks them.
Questions people ask
What size are the squares on graph paper?
In the US the usual size is ¼ inch, four squares to the inch. Elsewhere 5 mm squares are most common. Both are here, along with ⅕ inch, ⅛ inch, 1 cm and 1 mm.
How do I print graph paper at the right size?
Download the PDF and print it at 100 % or “Actual size”. The grid stays inside a half-inch margin, so nothing needs to shrink to fit.
Is graph paper the same as grid paper?
Yes. Graph paper, grid paper and squared paper all mean paper printed with a grid of squares.
Can I print as many copies as I like?
Yes. The PDF is free to print and share, for class sets as much as for yourself.
