How to change a photo background

  1. 01

    Choose a photo

Any photo of one or more people works best when they stand clear of the wall, in even light.

  2. 02

    Pick the colour

Tap a colour, choose any other with the picker, or pick Transparent for a cut-out PNG. The change is instant.

  3. 03

    Download it

Colours download as a JPG, which every form accepts. Transparent downloads as a PNG.

Questions people ask

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The person is found by a model that runs in your browser, and the photo never leaves your device.

Can I use this for a passport photo?

Check the rules first. The US, UK, Australia and India ask for photos that aren't digitally edited, so for those, take the photo against a real plain wall. Our passport photo maker sizes and checks the photo for each country.

My white background looks grey in the photo. Will this fix it?

Yes. A white wall photographed in normal room light often comes out grey or yellow. The tool replaces it with true white (#FFFFFF), while your face and clothes keep their colours.
