QR code that never expires

A static QR code holds your link or details directly, so there is nothing to switch off. It keeps working for as long as the page it points to exists.

  • Static code, no redirect
  • PNG, SVG, PDF, EPS

Logo in the middle (optional)

With a logo the code uses the strongest error correction (H), so it still scans with the middle covered. A simple logo with a clear outline works best. Your logo stays on this device.

What you type stays on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to make a QR code that doesn't expire

  1. 01

    Type your link or details

A website, UPI payment, Wi-Fi network, contact card, event or any text.

  2. 02

    Check what it scans as

The table under the code shows exactly what a phone will read: your own address, not a short link on someone else's site.

  3. 03

    Download and print

PNG for screens, SVG, PDF or EPS for print. The file is yours, with no account behind it.

Good to know

  • A static code can't be edited after printing. If the destination may change, point the code at a page you own, such as yoursite.com/menu, and update that page instead.
  • Static codes don't count scans. If you need numbers, add a tracking tag to your own link and read it in your website's analytics.
  • The more text a code holds, the denser it gets. Short addresses make codes that scan faster from far away.

Static and dynamic QR codes

Static: the content is in the code

A static QR code stores your web address, Wi-Fi details or text in its pattern of squares. A phone reads it directly. No server is involved, so nobody can turn it off and it has no end date.

Dynamic: the code points to a redirect

A dynamic QR code stores a short link on the generator's own website. When someone scans it, that site sends them on to your page. You can change the destination later and count scans, but the code works only while that redirect is running.

Why some codes stop working

Many services that offer dynamic codes charge a subscription, and some free plans have time or scan limits. If the plan ends, the redirect can stop or show a different page, and every printed copy stops with it. Read the terms before you print a lot of flyers.

How to tell which kind you have

Scan the code and look at the address before you open it. If it is your own website, the code is static. If it is a short link on another company's domain, the code depends on that company.

Questions people ask

Do QR codes expire?

The code itself never expires. A static code works as long as what it holds is still valid, such as a website that is still online. Codes that stop working are usually dynamic codes whose redirect service has ended.

Can I change where my static QR code goes?

Not after it is printed, because the address is part of the pattern. Point it at a page on your own site and change that page when you need to.

Is this QR code really free?

Yes. There is no account, watermark, scan limit or end date. The code is made in your browser and the file you download is yours.

What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?

A static code holds your link or details in its pattern, so it works without any server. A dynamic code holds a short link to another company's site, which sends people on to you; it can be edited and counted, but stops if that service ends.

Why did my QR code stop working?

Most often it was a dynamic code and its redirect was switched off when a plan ended. A static code stops only if the page it points to is gone, or the print is too damaged or faded to read.

Can I see how many people scanned my code?

Not from the code: a static code has no server to count scans. Add a tracking tag to your own link, such as ?source=flyer, and read the visits in your website's analytics.

Will a printed QR code still scan if it gets scratched?

A little damage is fine. The codes made here carry spare data, about 15% by default and about 30% with a logo, so a small scratch or stain is read past. Large tears, fading or glare can still stop it.

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. The code is drawn by your browser on your own device, so your UPI ID, Wi-Fi password or contact details never reach us or anyone else.
