Resize image to 2 MB
Get a large phone or camera photo under 2 MB. At that size most photos keep nearly all their pixels, so they still print well.

Questions people ask
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is resized by your browser on your own device and never leaves it. That also makes it fast: there is nothing to upload or wait for.
How do I reduce a photo to 2 MB on Android?
Open this page in Chrome or another browser, tap Choose image, pick the photo from your gallery and keep 2 MB selected. The JPG downloads to your phone, with nothing to install.
Will it change the pixel size?
Very little. Photos more than 4000 pixels on the long side are scaled down to 4000 px first; after that, a 2 MB limit is usually met by JPG compression alone, so the width and height stay the same.
Can I resize HEIC photos from an iPhone?
If your browser can open the HEIC photo, yes. Otherwise set the iPhone camera to Most Compatible, or share the photo as a JPG first.
Can I resize a camera RAW or TIFF file to 2 MB?
Only if your browser can open the file. Most browsers open JPG, PNG and WebP but not camera RAW files, so export a JPG from your camera app or editor first.
Will the photo stay the right way up?
Yes. The tool reads the rotation your camera saved, so a portrait photo stays upright in the 2 MB file.
Is it slow on a weak internet connection?
No. Once the page has opened, the photo is never sent anywhere, so a large photo resizes as fast on a slow connection as on a fast one.
Will the photo look worse?
Only as much as the limit forces. The tool lowers JPG quality first, which is hard to see, and shrinks the pixel size only if it must. The preview shows the exact file you will download.
