Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The image is resized by your browser on your own device and never leaves it. That also makes it fast: there is nothing to upload or wait for.

How do I make a photo between 40 KB and 120 KB?

Choose it here: 120 KB and a 40 KB minimum are already set. The download is a JPG inside that range, and the preview shows its exact size first.

What if my photo is still too small?

The tool first saves it at the highest JPG quality. If the file is still under the minimum, it adds blank comment data inside the JPG, which every viewer and portal skips, so the file reaches the size without a single pixel changing.

Does the China visa photo need set pixels too?

My visa photo was refused for its file size. What should I check?

Check that it is a JPG between 40 and 120 KB, and that you uploaded the file as downloaded. A copy sent through a chat app is often shrunk again on the way.

Will the photo be cropped?

No. This page changes only the file size and, if the file is too big, the pixel size. To crop to a set size first, use the crop photo to size tool.

Can I use this range for other forms?

Does it change the background colour?
